- LTACHs are separately licensed and operated acute care hospitals that are designed to treat medically complex patients who have an average length of stay of 25 days.
- Medically complex patients include patients experiencing: multi-system failure, post-surgical complications, respiratory failure, ventilator dependency, neuromuscular disorders, cardiac disorders, complex wounds, infectious diseases (MRSA/VRE) and trauma.
- LTACHs play a critical role in the continuum of care between the acute care hospital and other post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation facilities and home health.
- Patients are treated in an acute setting with daily physician visits.
- Intensive, interdisciplinary and focused medical and psychiatric care is provided daily.
- Our hospital is staffed with ACLS trained nurses and respiratory therapists with specific LTACH experience.
- Genesis offers 24-hour in-house respiratory therapy.
- Comprehensive rehabilitation services are provided to patients.
- We provide a solution for placement of medically complex outlier patients that require extended medical and/or psychiatric care.

Social services are provided to assist with discharge planning needs.
- Genesis accepts Medicare, Worker’s Compensation and various forms of commercial insurance including HMOs, PPOs and Indemnity Plans.
- A physician’s order is required for an assessment.
- The admission coordinator is contacted to schedule the evaluation.
- Patient’s needs are then evaluated by a licensed nurse to determine admission appropriateness.
- Timely notification of acceptance will be provided.
- Genesis accepts patients from home, a hospital, ICU, physician’s office or nursing home.
